1550nm lasers are extremely sensitive to fiber bending: even a single small bend attenuates the optical signal, and once the fiber spooled out on the ground passes through multiple bends, the 1550nm link carrying the drone control signal drops out entirely and the aircraft crashes. Aomway therefore made the original choice to transmit the drone control signal at 1270nm, a wavelength that is completely insensitive to fiber bending, while video is carried at 1330nm. This module greatly improves the stability of fiber transmission over 20 km and beyond.
It also uses a plug-in design that inserts directly into the back of the transmitter with no additional wiring — truly plug and play.
