The system precisely controls the phase of every MEMS sensor to achieve ultra-long-range acoustic source detection and localisation. An onboard AI module analyses the acoustic signature to accurately distinguish whether the detected object is a small FPV drone, a large fixed-wing UAV, a large helicopter, or a low-altitude terrain-hugging cruise missile, automatically filtering out non-target objects.
Once the system identifies a target, it sends the target’s azimuth and elevation angles to an optical tracking gimbal, which performs secondary image recognition and then tracks and locks the target.
Because it uses 128 high-precision MEMS acoustic sensors, detection range for large gasoline-engine fixed-wing UAVs exceeds 1 km. When the units are networked and stream data back to a central server in real time, a rough calculation shows that 120 units can deliver gap-free acoustic drone detection across a 320 km² circular area.
